The Longing Wall-e Coloring Page

If adorability could be rated, these following Wall-e coloring pages would definitely score 15 out of 10. I mean, just look at those eyes! And that longing! If this doesn’t prove that robots can feel, nothing else will :)

Once upon a time I considered taking up animation and art. But I could never quite grasp how a simple drawing of a box or a hand was supposed to have "expression" or "movement" or all the other words that I just couldn't correlate to a static immobile images. I mean, a box is a box, right? A square is a square...

Obviously the guys at Pixar got the point much better than I did. They manage to put feelings into a being with no mouth, or nose, or ears... I mean, what is Wall-e but a box with eyes? And yet... How do they do it?

Anyways, back to the coloring page. This time the picture is available in two versions – with highlighted features and regular.





Personally I love the highlighted version… But who am I to stop others from highlighting on their own? After all, that’s the fun in coloring, eh? :)

Wall-E's Friend, Eve -- High Quality Coloring Page!

Here is a high quality picture of Eve!



Now this picture actually looks smooth and sleek like the object of Wall-e’s affections :).

To have fun coloring this page, suggest to the child drawing dark sky and stars in the background. Maybe galaxies, and comets... The dark colors will offset Eve (who's actually metallic-white).

You could also use silver crayons. Or glitter crayons. Or even metallic crayons (Crayola makes those – they work best if you print the picture on colored paper).

Tip: glitter crayons are also great for shiny stars :)

PS: You could always import the picture into Word document and add some stars or shapes to the page before printing for the child. There are stars in the generic "Drawing" toolbar of Word. Just sprinkle them around... Maybe even ask the child to suggest how big and wher he/she wants them!

Wall-e and Eve coloring page is now available!



After being alone for such a long time (hundreds of years!) Wall-e meets a slick robot named Eve, and falls head over heels in love with her.

Eve has no feelings. She’s just a probe robot on a mission… Cold and cynical. And Wall-e is willing to chase her all around the galaxy.

Will Wall-e melt her heart? Will love triumph?

Andrew Stanton admitted that the design of Eve was influenced by Apple. In his words: “Wall-E is a tractor and she's a Mercedes. So in the world of technology, what's the sleekest, most seamless, where the moving parts are hidden…” Johnny Ive, who does the design for Apple liked Eve a lot too!

By the way, it is perfectly normal for kids to try colors that are different from official version. If your child’s favourite color (of the day!) is green – let Wall e be green! The whole reason for coloring is to stimulate coordination and imagination. Younger kids like to experiment with colors.

You can even play a game with the child. Ask him (or her) if this was their toy, what would they want it to look like? Or, what color mood is Wall-E in the picture? And some kids find it amusing to draw patterns… Though in general, the older the kids, the more they strive for realism…

Coloring is all about being a magician. Letting a few simple lines on the page take over and become a vivid picture. I’m sure that’s how the geniuses at Pixar and Disney got started in the first place!

Wall-E: Make Your Own Coloring Pages!

There are many sites online that have coloring pages. Especially for popular cartoons, such as Wall-E. These pages are generally free, and more often then not you don’t even need to download them – load the picture up and print.

If your child likes to have multiple pictures on a page (while online pages may only have one or two characters), download a few pictures and then use software such as Adobe to arrange images on the page. But you don’t need to spend money – there are tons of easy image editing software available for free – my favorite is Serif PhotoPlus. This will allow you to tweak the images to your heart’s content!

For the really easy way, I often layout the downloaded printable images in a Word file, and then print them up.

If you are traveling, print a number of different pages, and then staple them together. Kid’s love personalized books. Or you can put the pages in a binder or folder. But be sure to put a picture of Wall-e on the front! That will be the “Wall-e folder” that the kids can decorate with stickers, crayons, markers etc…
