
By the way, it is perfectly normal for kids to try colors that are different from official version. If your child’s favourite color (of the day!) is green – let Wall e be green! The whole reason for coloring is to stimulate coordination and imagination. Younger kids like to experiment with colors.
You can even play a game with the child. Ask him (or her) if this was their toy, what would they want it to look like? Or, what color mood is Wall-E in the picture? And some kids find it amusing to draw patterns… Though in general, the older the kids, the more they strive for realism…
Coloring is all about being a magician. Letting a few simple lines on the page take over and become a vivid picture. I’m sure that’s how the geniuses at Pixar and Disney got started in the first place!
